Biography
Dr. Farhan Khan has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Habib University since August 2022, where he has developed and taught courses including Digital Logic & Design, Computer Architecture, Data Communication & Networking, and Cryptography and Network Security, and leads the CE Lab Committee and the CE Industry-Academia Liaison Committee.
Before Habib, he was briefly Assistant Professor at the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (March–August 2022), and prior to that Senior Lecturer at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation in Christchurch, New Zealand (2021–2022), teaching UX design and software development principles. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Auckland (2016–2020) while working as a Teaching Assistant and project co-supervisor there, and earlier spent nearly a decade (2009–2016) as a Lecturer at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals’ Hafr Al-Batin Community College, where he chaired the college’s ABET accreditation and planning committees. He began his academic career as a Lecturer at NED University (2004–2006).
Dr. Khan’s research centers on wireless sensor network localization, VANET routing, and fault-tolerant digital systems design, with recent work extending into deep-learning applications for hazard monitoring, VR training platforms, and precision positioning. He has authored two books, five journal articles, and more than a dozen conference papers.
