- Speech-to-task, October 2020 – November 2021
- Developed a responsive full-stack RESTful web application using a JS/JQuery/Bootstrap front-end, and Django/PostgreSQL back-end, allowing users to record voice memos, generate automatic transcriptions of the audio data using AWS Transcribe, and generate a summarized list of action items using crowdworkers.
- Containerized the application using Docker, with an Nginx proxy server to enable SSL connections.

Biography
Amber Aftab is a dedicated educator and researcher in the field of Computer Science, with a strong focus on inclusivity, accessibility, and user-centered design. She brings together rigorous academic training, practical teaching experience, and industry insights to create learning environments that empower students and address real-world challenges. Amber’s work aims to bridge the digital divide by designing technology that adapts to users’ varying levels of digital literacy, with an emphasis on empathy and human-centered design. She is passionate about fostering a culture of curiosity, inclusivity, and collaboration, particularly within interdisciplinary academic settings.
Amber’s industry work with construction professionals and graduate research on accessibility for older adults have shaped her user-focused design philosophy. She specializes in creating adaptable interfaces that empower users and bridge the digital divide.
