Biography
Dr. Tariq received his B.S. Electrical Engineering degree in 2007, following which he received a Fulbright fellowship to pursue graduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his M.S. Electrical & Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. Electrical and Computer Engineering degrees in 2010 and 2016 respectively. In his doctoral studies, he focused on the development of service-oriented computing infrastructure for efficient as well as reliable development and operation of wide-area cyber-physical systems such as smart power grid and automated irrigation networks.
In 2015, he also completed a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Entrepreneurship from Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 2015 to 2020, Dr. Tariq was the Co-founder and Principal Software Architect of a technology startup, based in Atlanta, GA, USA, that won multiple R&D grants from the US Department of Energy, Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy (ARPA-E), and various US national labs.
