To ensure that this opportunity caters to a broad spectrum of academics, we have created two types of engagement opportunities.

Program: 1

VISITING TEACHING SCHOLAR

You can become a Visiting Teaching Scholar at Habib University if you have a Ph.D. in the relevant field or if you are a practitioner with extensive industry experience. You will have an opportunity to teach in-person or remotely.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Create and teach interesting courses for undergraduate students
  • Add value and contribute to the University's academic community by sharing your expertise and knowledge
  • Engage with students, faculty, and staff in academic discussions, seminars, and workshops

DURATION

As these are teaching-centric positions, the engagement would be typically for a semester or two. However, for short term modules, the engagement could also be between 4-8 weeks.

Program: 2

VISITING RESEARCH SCHOLAR

To become a visiting research scholar at Habib University, you must have enrolled in or completed a Ph.D. and have considerable published research in a relevant field.

As a Visiting Research Scholar, you will receive the following benefits.

  • Access to University resources, such as the library, research facilities, and technology
  • Platforms to engage with Habib University and external community
  • Subsidized accommodation and transport (subject to availability)

EXPECTATIONS

  • Join the Habib community of scholars and share your work with the intellectual community
  • Conduct research in Karachi or elsewhere in Pakistan in collaboration with Habib faculty or independently
  • Teach special courses or seminars revolving around multi-disciplinary research work and statistical tools
  • Conduct a community event/seminar to disseminate your research work, in order to engage undergraduate students

DURATION

You will be offered an engagement term of up to one year, subject to the nature of the research work.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The application process for the Visiting Scholar Program will be open throughout the year, for both Visiting Teaching Scholars and Visiting Research Scholars.

Applications must be submitted online on the University website. Applications will be reviewed by a committee, and the decision will be communicated via email.
