Biography

Sajal has been involved with the private education sector since 2006, first in Lahore, briefly in London post her masters, and in Karachi since 2016. She has been associated with Karachi Grammar School as faculty and Coordinator for Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications. At Habib University, she is currently the course lead for the 2-semester sequence of Calculus courses, and is dedicated to enriching the freshman experience as they transition to undergraduate mathematics.

Her degree in education and experience with teacher training has made her passionate about the impact of various pedagogical approaches on student motivation. Consequently, her research interests are focused on understanding the nuances of students’ outlook to the study of mathematics, as well as the impact of assessment practice on student motivation. She continues to explore and implement a learner-centered approach to teaching in her lessons. Her long-term goal is to impact teacher training in Pakistan at a broader level, liaising with both the private and public sector to generate maximum reach and impact.
