Biography
Dr. Edward Moad is a Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Comparative Humanities, specializing in Islamic and Comparative Philosophy. His research explores metaphysics, moral epistemology, and philosophy of religion through a comparative lens, often drawing connections between classical Islamic thought and contemporary philosophical debates. Much of his work concentrates on metaphysical and epistemological questions involved in the nature of time, modality, and causality, particularly as they function in the ‘Incoherence’ debate between Al-Ghazali and Ibn Rushd.
In addition to his scholarly contributions, Dr. Moad is committed to advancing a well-rounded undergraduate education in philosophy. He played a key role in curriculum development at Qatar University, including the establishment of the first Minor in Philosophy offered in both English and Arabic.
