Biography

Naila Pervaiz is a dedicated and accomplished academic who has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of history. Her journey in academia began over a decade and a half ago when she took on the role of a Teaching Assistant in the Department of History, Government College University, Lahore. Her passion for history, coupled with her commitment to teaching, quickly propelled her career forward.

Over the years, Naila steadily climbed the academic ranks, achieving the position of Lecturer in 2007. Her years as a lecturer were marked by her exceptional teaching skills and her ability to engage and inspire students. Her contributions to history education were highly regarded, and she became a respected figure among her peers.

In 2018, Naila Pervaiz attained the pinnacle of her academic journey by earning her Ph.D. in History from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. This achievement not only showcased her dedication to scholarship but also expanded her capacity to contribute significantly to the academic community.

Today, as an Assistant Professor at Government College University, Lahore, Naila continues to shape the minds of the next generation of historians. Her commitment to teaching extends beyond the classroom, as she actively supervises research projects for both B.A (Hons) students and M.Phil candidates.

Naila’s impressive teaching portfolio covers a wide array of historical topics, reflecting her deep understanding of the subject matter. Her courses encompass everything from the cultural and social history of Sufism to the complexities of British India. Her diverse range of courses demonstrates her versatility as an educator and her ability to connect with students on various academic levels.

In addition to her teaching prowess, Naila Pervaiz has made significant contributions to historical research. Her published works, including research papers and a book review, have enriched the academic discourse in the field of history. Notably, her work on the symbolism of cotton-spinning and weaving in Shah Husayn’s poetry is an exemplary piece of scholarship.
