Biography
Hasan Habib has been Assistant Professor of Practice in Communication and Design at Habib University since September 2022, teaching Design Thinking, Interaction Design, and Service Design, and helping students and early-career designers build real-world readiness by bridging academia and industry through live projects and workshops.
He is a multidisciplinary design leader, educator, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience at the intersection of UX/UI design, service innovation, and social impact. Since January 2017, he has been CEO and Head of Design at Designist, which he established as one of Pakistan’s first dedicated Human-Centered Design agencies, working on over 50 projects across fintech, healthcare, and education sectors, including startups that have collectively raised over USD 100 million, and helping set up design operations and governance for other organizations. He is also the founder of Haboodle, a creative venture turning live doodle portraits into products and experiences.
Earlier in his career, he was a Design and Innovation Coach at FutureGov (remote, 2021), Head of Experience Design at Jump Activations, Karachi (2016-2017), establishing the agency’s Experience Design department, and Director of Design at Crea8ive Bench, Karachi (2015-2016), embedding design thinking into the company’s culture and leadership. His earlier design career included work as a Motion Graphic Artist at E.D Films, Montreal (2013-2014), and Junior Art Director at Storypanda, Vancouver (2012-2013), creating interactive children’s storybooks.
