Biography
Dr. Michael Wegener is an economist whose research draws on mathematical and computational methods to study heterogeneous expectations and their role in business cycle fluctuations and nonlinear financial market dynamics. He completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Bamberg, Germany, following an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Bonn.
Dr. Wegener brings extensive international teaching experience across bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Germany and Turkey. At Antalya Bilim University, he taught a broad range of courses including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, game theory, and development economics to a diverse international student body, while also coordinating the department’s Erasmus+ mobility programme. His research has been published in leading journals including the International Journal of Game Theory, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and the Journal of Evolutionary Economics. He is fluent in German and English, with additional proficiency in Spanish, Italian, and Turkish.
