Zero Week
Date: 8th – 13th August, 2025
1. Themes of Zero Week
Zero Week is designed around four key themes to ensure that students acquire foundational knowledge and skills essential for navigating their four-year journey at Habib University.
a. Intellectual Experience @ Habib
Through faculty-led classes and interdisciplinary sessions, students will get a deeper understanding of the unique intellectual experience of Habib.
A meaningful and intellectually exciting learning experience is at the heart of Habib University’s academic framework. We see students as active ‘architects’ designing their own learning paths and dynamic participants shaping their knowledge, skills and values.
Habib University’s undergraduate intellectual experience is mind and heart stimulating, interdisciplinary, grounded in both local and global contexts, mentored by highly qualified faculty and supported by student success services. Habib’s intellectual experience will give you the tools to become thoughtful and reflective learners with a variety of intellectual and technical skills. It will help you deepen and broaden your understanding of the world in which you live so you can make conscious and sensible choices in your life for living and working.
b. Culture and Values @ Habib
Through several meaningful activities by the faculty and Student Leaders, this week theme will help you understand the culture and values of Habib University which make this place a unique, inclusive, respectful and safe space to learn.
Habib University is a community of students, faculty, and staff engaged in teaching, learning, mentoring, researching, and promoting the overall mission and vision of the University. Habib University is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment to all of its community members to ensure their personal, emotional, social, professional, and academic well-being. It is also committed to fostering an environment of active citizenship where people fulfill their individual and collective responsibilities to maintain a safe, healthy, and respectful environment.
This theme will help you understand YOHSIN Values and community expectations of living responsibly and aiming to positively impact the community and the world while upholding key YOHSIN values.
c. Rules and Tools for Success
Habib University has employed various technology platforms and tools to help students plan their journey and interact with faculty and staff and keep track of their progress. Besides these platforms, the University has laid down academic policies for student success. This theme will help them understand and learn how to use IT platforms and their policies.
d. Community Building and Ownership
Under this theme, the University will engage you in a variety of fun-filled activities to ensure that you make new friends, meet with your faculty, start building relationships with staff and senior students. These community relationships will play a key role in your transition to University and create a support system for your future.
