Formerly, Lauder was the Director of the Centre for Excellence in Journalism at the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi.

With a MFA in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Temple University, Lauder combines her passion for American Popular Culture with her literary pursuits, often exploring the intersections of gender, popular culture, and technology in her writing. Her work has appeared in Persephone Magazine, Peauxdunque Review, Jezebel, and Refinery 29, among other outlets.

Lauder was a board member of The Salam Award for Imaginative Fiction, dedicated to fostering Pakistani speculative fiction, and a member of Desi Writer’s Lounge, through which she conducted numerous writing workshops throughout Karachi. She knows a lot about horror films and has a lot of cats.
