Will campus visits and other admission events go ahead?

Sadly, in light of current events all on campus activities and events for prospective students and applicants have been cancelled. Will Habib University relax admissions requirement this year?

We understand that with the ongoing suspension of classes and the consequent postponement of final year examinations, students may be worrying about their future. HU, being a student-centric university, has responded to the prevailing situation by altering its admissions process with the aim to facilitate students. I am concerned that my exams may be affected by corona virus. What can you tell me?

HU would take every possible measure to ensure that our applicants suffer no academic loss and that their investment remains secure. As a response to the COVID-19 situation and the uncertainty which it has brought especially for students, HU will be declaring admission decisions on the basis of O-level results, online interview and the meta-curricular resume for the Round 2 of admissions for the Fall 2020 intake. If you are an applicant, please continue completing your admission application and submit it as usual. HU’s application process is online and it takes about 20 minutes to complete and submit your application.

Are the admissions still open despite the situation? Shall I continue with the application?

The Round 2 of admissions were announced open on Mar 1, 2020. We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2020 intake. If you have not started your application, and are interested, please initiate it at www.eapplication.habib.edu.pk. If you have already started your application, you can continue with your e-application using your login id and password. HU’s application process is online and it takes about 20 minutes to complete and submit your application.

How can I submit the Scholarship and Financial Aid form as the campus is closed?

Please email the scanned copy of your Scholarship and Financial Aid form (duly filled and signed) along with the scanned copy of documents required (if any) at student.finance@habib.edu.pk

Please note that the deadline to submit your Scholarship and Financial Aid form for Round 2 of admissions is Monday, 18th May 2020.

I was planning to appear for SATs but SAT tests have been cancelled considering the prevailing situation. What are my options?

The safety of students is our top most priority. In the current situation where social distancing is strictly being adhered to, HU has modified its admissions process as a response to the pandemic. We will be accepting and reviewing admission applications without an Entrance Exam or SAT score. When will the new academic year start?

HU has formed a committee to make decisions pertaining to the current situation and is in touch with the officials of various boards of education in the country. The decision about the academic calendar at HU will be made once we have more details from the various examination boards. Rest assured that the university is considering and willing to make adjustments, to facilitate the students.

Will the university accept my delayed board exam result?

If you are successful in your application to HU and are offered admission, you will be able to commence classes in the upcoming academic year subject to the submission of enrollment fee but your admission will be provisional till we receive  your board exam results; you will need to provide the results to HU, as and when they become available.

What if the board decides not to conduct any form of examination and announce the result in another format instead of grades?

In such a scenario, the university will also reconsider its criteria/ eligibility for admissions and communicate with the students accordingly.

Will I need predictive grades from my school?

I applied in Round 1 of admissions but didn't appear for the test/ interview. How can I resume my application with HU?

You may continue your application from where you left using the same email address and password you had set earlier by visiting www.eapplication.habib.edu.pk Upon completion and submission of your application, you will be considered for the Round 2 of admissions for the Fall 2020 intake.

Admitted Students

I have received my admissions offer. Is my offer still valid?

Yes, if you have received an acceptance from the university for Round 1 of admissions, it remains valid. Please follow the instructions provided to you with respect to the payment of enrollment fee to secure an admission for the Fall 2020 intake.

By when am I supposed to pay my enrollment fee?

Given the current circumstances, HU’s admissions enrollment fee date has been extended to ensure safety of our students and to minimize any exposure for those who will deposit it at Habib Metropolitan Bank. Revised deadline to pay your enrollment fee is Thursday April 30, 2020

When will the new academic year start?

The decision about the academic calendar at HU will be made once we have more details from the various examination boards. Rest assured that the university is considering and willing to make adjustments, to facilitate the students.

Will the university accept my delayed boards result?

As a successful HU offer holder, you will be able to commence classes in the upcoming academic year subject to the submission of enrollment fee but your admission will be provisional till we receive your board exam results; you will need to provide the results to HU, as and when they become available.

Admitted students appearing for the Cambridge International Examinations are required to achieve at least a passing grade in their A-levels.

Parents

Given the prevailing scenario, how do I ensure that I plan my child's future without compromising her/his health and well-being?

We at HU understand that your child’s health and well-being are your foremost concerns and everything else is secondary. However, as long as you and your children are taking all the necessary precautions, there is no harm in thinking about, and planning for your child’s future. HU’s admission process is online and will not take more than 20 minutes to complete. Students can start their online application at www.eapplication.habib.edu.pk 

How will the current situation and resultant exam delays affect my child’s future?

We are closely monitoring the situation and working on a plan to mitigate any academic and/or financial loss and ensure that students transition from high school to university with minimum setbacks, given the current situation.

As a response to the prevailing situation, HU has already altered its admissions process for the students applying in the Round 2 of admissions for Fall 2020 intake. Students will no longer be required to appear for the Entrance  Exam/ SATs taking into account the precautionary measure of social distancing. While the admissions decisions will be made on the applicants O-level grades, online interview and meta curricular form. If we decide on a gap year, will the admission and Scholarship & Financial Aid offered remain intact for next year or the student has to go over the process again?

Scholarship and Financial Aid (SAFA) offers remain valid only for the academic cycle they are offered in. Students who intend to take a gap year will be required to re-apply for SAFA. However, the admission can be deferred for a year subject to a valid reason.

If the situation prevails, and the university does not open, what plan does HU have in place?

In such a situation, we may decide to move all academic learning to our online fora. Having said that, we continue to monitor the situation closely and will be reaching out in case there are any fundamental changes in the academic cycle. In the meantime, please follow our communication and updates to you and your child through email, HU website, digital media and other means of communication utilized by HU.

Will the university accept the students delayed board exam result?

HU continues to evaluate the developing situation and will be accepting the delayed examination results, as they become available. We may also decide to consider projected results for admission purposes. In either case, whichever decision HU takes, it will be ensured that admission decisions are transparent and universal.

Should I prioritize university applications now, considering the overall confusion and delay regarding board examinations?

HU is accepting applications for Fall 2020 intake and  students are advised to continue and submit the applications online. Admission applications received will be processed by the admissions team based on the revised evaluation criteria adopted (given the current COVID-19 pandemic) as available on https://habib.edu.pk/admissions-amid-covid19/schedule-round2/. All updates regarding the admissions process will be shared with the school representatives at the earliest.

Are you accepting admissions applications?

Applicants from Round 1 have not received their decisions yet and are inquiring about it

There has been a delay in announcing the Round 1 results as the educational institutions were closed by the government. The students can expect their admissions decision by the mid of April 2020.
