Who Can Opt for Student Employment?

All full-time students can apply for Student Employment opportunities from their second semester. As long as students are able to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.33 every semester and a good conduct standing.

How can you apply for Student Employment?

All student employment opportunities are announced via email. Keep checking your university email account regularly for announcements of student jobs from the Office of Career Services. Make sure you read the Job Description (JD) as well as the terms and conditions of the announced job (attached in the email) and apply as per the process outlined in the JD.

How will you know if you have received a job offer through the University’s career services?

You will receive an email or call from your prospective supervisor for the selection process. If you will be selected for the job you applied for, OCS will issue you a contract letter with all terms and conditions.

How will you be paid?

Once you start your job, OCS will help you understand the payment process. You will be required to undertake the following steps to ensure timely payment:

Provide your account details and other essential information to Office of Student Finance by filling in a simple form at: https://habibuniversity.sharepoint.com/sites/Student/Pages/Payment-Processing-of-Student-Employment.aspx

Fill in and submit your monthly online timesheet for approval by your supervisor. You have to submit it as per specified timelines by OCS. You can access the timesheet from: Student Work Study Program
After receiving the approved timesheet from your supervisor, the Office of Student Finance will process the payment and you will be paid through cheque.

What are some other benefits of Student Employment?

Student employment at the university offers more than just financial support, it provides hands-on experience that builds critical workplace skills. By taking on on-campus roles, students develop professional competencies such as time management, communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and digital literacy. These roles also help students gain confidence, build a strong work ethic, and prepare for future careers by translating academic knowledge into real-world contexts.

In addition, each semester the Office of Career Services announces the ‘Top Performing Student Employees’ to recognize the hard work and dedication of students employed on campus, highlight the exemplary manner in which they balance their work and academic commitments. Stellar student employees are selected on the recommendation of their supervisors, accounting for their overall performance.
