Biography
Dr. Susanne Kathrin Beiweis is a scholar of the history of philosophy and ideas, with a particular focus on Renaissance and Early Modern philosophy. Her research centers on Renaissance Platonism, Marsilio Ficino, and Renaissance magic, exploring how the intellectual traditions of learned magic, art, and natural philosophy in the Renaissance contributed to the development of modern science in the seventeenth century.
She has held teaching and research positions in Canada, China, Finland, Austria, and Germany, including as Visiting Assistant Professor and now Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mount Allison University, and as a Research Associate at Sun Yat-sen University in China. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, and she is active in interdisciplinary and intercultural philosophical dialogues across the globe.
