Biography
Kabir Altaf is a Hindustani classical vocalist, specializing in khayal. He holds an M.Mus in Ethnomusicology from SOAS, University of London. His dissertation was entitled “A New Explanation for the Decline of Hindustani Music in Pakistan”. Kabir has previously served as Adjunct Faculty at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he taught a course entitled “ An Introduction to the Evolution of Music in South Asia”. He has performed in both Pakistan and the US. Kabir’s recordings are available on Spotify.
