The purpose of this course is to provide students with a critical and rigorous introduction to the world of public policy. The first part of the course will introduce the students to key theories and concepts; the second part will focus on the local context and introduce students to policy, politics, and institutions in Pakistan; and the third part will conclude the course with discussions of policymaking approaches and selected policy issues.nnAdditionally, the Policy Lab is a weekly practice?oriented companion to Public Policy I. The Lab translates the core theories, concepts, and institutional knowledge from the main course into concrete analytical, data, and communication skills. Through short, structured exercises, students will learn how to define public problems, map policy actors and institutions, work with simple data, and draft concise policy memos.
