This studio course explores the artist’s book as a hybrid form of visual communication, narrative design, and material practice. Students will investigate how structure, sequencing, image, text, layout, material, and colour can shape meaning and reader-experience. Through iterative making, critique, and analysis of historical and contemporary works, students will develop books that function as designed communication objects, as well as expressive artifacts.
