This course offers an immersive, project-based introduction to human-centered design, systems engineeering, and project management. Students progress through three interconnected modules: foundational training in project planning and execution, a guided toy example to apply systems engineering methodology, and an embedded case study where students work alongside
on-going industry-facing projects. The course emphasizes cultivating a professional project management culture- where ownership, communication, milestone tracking, and adaptability are practiced in real time. Students are introduced to the full engineering project lifecycle from user need identification and problem definition to solution delivery, while also learning to collaborate effectively, communicate progress, and reflect critically on decisions.
