The course is offered as a depth elective course. In the curriculum it is the first course on Networking therefore no prior background is expected. This course will not only introduce students to the basics of the communication of data in the networks of computers but will also enable developing some insight towards the core issues related to the communication models, different network devices and let students focus towards some State-of-the-art concepts of their choice in Networking and Data Communications. The labs will be performed on Packet Tracer as well as on CISCO hardware (switch and routers).
