Vice President for Strategic Advancement and Institutional Development
Yasmeen Bano is the Vice President for Strategic Advancement and Institutional Development (SAID) at Habib University. She is responsible for advancing Habib University’s long-term vision through integrated planning, academic development, and global engagement. Her role is critical in strengthening the institution’s ability to adapt to evolving educational landscapes while remaining rooted in its intellectual commitments and regional relevance.
Collaborating with other VPs, she ensures student-centricity across institutional functions, promoting high-quality interdisciplinary pedagogy integrated with technology and community relevance, addressing contemporary global challenges, and advancing and synchronizing student support services. The role also encompasses identifying and collaborating with various units to institute a relevant support structure for robust capacity building, local and global engagement for strategic benefits, and advancing data-driven decision-making.
A founding staff member, Yasmeen was instrumental in shaping the institution and advancing its strategic framework. Her deep understanding of Habib’s vision and rich institutional memory uniquely position her to lead this complex, integrative effort.
Previously, as Vice President for Student Affairs, she oversaw key student-facing departments, including Student Life, Career Services, Academic Advising, Alumni Relations, and Learning Support Services. Under her leadership, Habib strengthened its student-centered experience, enhancing engagement, retention, and well-being while fostering academic achievement, personal growth, and career readiness.
Yasmeen holds an M.Ed. in Teacher Education from AKU-IED and brings extensive experience in the education sector, including senior roles at Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan, where she developed impactful teacher development programs. Her expertise in student engagement, leadership development, and educational equity continues to drive her mission of preparing graduates for meaningful careers and lifelong learning.
