Political science courses focus mostly on abstract theories or institutional dynamics specifically unfolding in a localized context- ignoring either completely the individual-level factors such as voting behavior or cross-cultural contexts which may crucially hint at issues of construct validity or internal reliability for frameworks usually taken for granted. This particular course has been designed to study political behavior across macro and micro levels of analyses- juxtaposing classical political psychological frameworks (mostly derived from North American Political Science Tradition) against political behaviors observed in South Asia- mainly in India and Pakistan. After taking this course, students are expected to be proficient in identifying structural, procedural and individual level variables that may have a crucial impact on political outcomes.
