Biography

Dr. Naveed Razzaq Butt is an accomplished researcher and academic leader with extensive experience in mathematical modeling, statistical signal processing, wireless communications, and machine learning. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from Lund University, Sweden, in 2011 and has since held key positions in academia and industry, including Senior Researcher at Ericsson (Sweden) and Dean, Faculty of Engineering Sciences at GIK Institute.

Dr. Butt has over 20 years of combined academic and industrial experience across Sweden, the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. His research has led to 15 peer-reviewed journal articles, 26 international conference publications, 8 granted U.S. patents (and 4 pending), and contributions to IEEE standards. He has worked on collaborative projects with organizations such as Swedish Defence Research Agency, Wellcome Trust, Ericsson, SUPARCO, and Careem.

As an educator, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in applied mathematics, signal processing, and electrical engineering. His teaching philosophy emphasizes motivation, intuition, and inspiration, ensuring that students develop both conceptual clarity and real-world problem-solving skills.
