This class aims to provide students with a introductory level understanding on how to “”read”” film as a piece of text. This skill goes beyond simply consuming movies to understanding how they are put together, how choices made in production and editing affect the final product, and how viewers can interpret and understand the overall message of a film.nStudents will be introduced to basic film theory and advanced, specific theories on the horror genre.nThis is not a production class. We are not making films. We’re learning how to understand them.
