Climate change has emerged as a pressing global crisis, as observed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), leading to an alarming increase in extreme weather events and biodiversity loss. These shifts have particularly impacted vulnerable regions, exacerbating existing vulnerabilities and amplifying the potential for conflicts, displacement, and migration on an unprecedented scale. Pakistan, for instance, has faced a series of intense weather events, including devastating floods in 2022 affecting over 10 million people, further heightening the country’s susceptibility to conflicts. Gender disparities exacerbated by climate change contribute to societal tensions, underlining the urgent need for community building to foster resilience and drive peace efforts. Empowered and engaged communities play a crucial role in navigating adversities effectively, mitigating conflicts, and facilitating sustainable peace-building processes.
