Final Year Project
Project Title
Protein Complex Prediction in PPI Networks via Ensemble Frameworks
Description
My capstone project is an application of Graph Theory, and Learning Algorithms in the field of bioinformatics. The thesis deals with attempting to find meaningful information from a network protein-protection interactions. One of the most important pieces of information that can be acquired from such a network is clusters of interactions that may tell us new things about present known protein-protein interactions and unknown ones. The aim of our project is to develop an algorithm that is able to match or supersede the efficiency and accuracy of present algorithms. The benefit of such an algorithm is that as not all complexes can be identified via experimental methods, computer science becomes paramount in helping biologists reach important conclusive results that they may then use in further work such as drug development.
