Muzammil Tariq, our CS alumnus from the Class of 2022 recently achieved a significant milestone in his academic journey by having his research paper, titled “Air Quality of Karachi and Lahore: How does the energy industry of Pakistan affect it,” published in IEEE Xplore. This accomplishment stands as a testament to his dedication to research and his commitment to making a meaningful contribution to the field.
He shares, "This research was inspired by my academics in both Computer Science and Social Development & Policy, where I was exposed to quantitative research."
Muzammil's journey to publication was filled with excitement: "Receiving the news about getting my publication accepted felt quite nice. It had been a dream of mine to become a published author!"
His participation in the 6th International Conference on Energy Conservation and Efficiency (ICECE) was equally rewarding: "It felt good. Everybody had done research in the domains of their expertise and had knowledge to share." At the conference, he had the chance to connect with fellow researchers who, like him, celebrated their first publications.
As for his future, Muzammil is focused on continuous growth and learning: “I'm actively looking for master's programs where I can further train myself in similar research opportunities."
