Shaping Future

Habib University launched its admissions process at a two day event: Shaping Futures, A Habib University Expo, held on October 26 and 27, 2013 at Karachi Expo Center. Shaping Futures, A Habib University Expo provided a thorough overview of Habib University as an upcoming institution of distinguished educational standards. It gave potential students and general audience the opportunity to learn more about the University and experience first-hand the promise of an unparalleled education. Nearly 5,000 visitors from across Karachi and other parts of Sindh attended the weekend long event including students from over 70 schools and colleges.  They interacted with Habib University’s internationally qualified faculty, campus and planning teams, student recruitment team and the student affairs team. Habib University’s representatives provided detailed information about the University’s academic and student life programs, campus design, global and local partnerships and scholarship and aid policies. The Expo also gave prospective students the facility to begin their online application process. The visitors were delighted to experience all aspects of the campus, and were impressed by the detailed thought and effort that has gone into setting up Habib University. Students appreciated the opportunity of striking a conversation with the faculty and student affairs counselors, whose guidance they found particularly useful. “It was great talking to Dr. Tim Spracklen (Dean for Continuing Research and Education, Habib University) about the potential research opportunities Habib University will offer its undergraduate students.”, said one student. Habib University had collaborated with the School of Leadership to set up a life skills zone. Students were thrilled to participate in dynamic and challenging life skill workshops based on team work, problem solving, communication and creativity. Students, parents and professionals all appreciated the event, and expressed their excitement about the advent of such an institution on the Pakistani landscape. “After attending this Expo, I can surely see Habib University becoming a big name. I can’t wait to become part of this institution. As a student, I have seen the suffering of a deprived nation, and I see Habib University as the game changer,” said one high school student. One parent commended the Habib initiative, saying “This University is a milestone in the history of modern learning.”
