Beyond Habib – Graduates foray into academic, professional excellence
Within two months of convocation, 75% of the batch of 2023 had either secured a placement at prestigious universities like Harvard and Dartmouth for further studies or landed lucrative positions in their chosen industry.
Undergraduate research on AI solutions for sustainable farming presented at COP28, UAE
Areeb Adnan Khan and Nimra Sohail, from the Class of 2024, presented their Summer Tehqiq Research Program (STRP) project, IntelliCropPK to a global audience at COP28’s Prototypes for Humanity Programme in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Celebrating new beginnings and milestones with Class of 2027
In Fall 2023, Habib University welcomed a record-breaking class of 335 students boasting not only the most generous intake with 30% on full scholarship but also 40% female STEM enrolment. Our Comparative Humanities program also appealed to a sizable portion of the incoming class. A series of annual welcoming programs helped facilitate the Class of 2027’s smooth transition into the community.

The 6th edition of the annual Post-Colonial Higher Education Conference (PHEC) brought together globally acclaimed scholars, thinkers, activists and writers to address the distortion of linkages between religion, ethics, and spirituality in the modern world.
‘Confronting with Passion the Conundrum of Life’ - Dr Azra Raza at HU Yohsin Lecture
The 8th Yohsin Lecture featured Dr Azra Raza, who shared her insights on navigating cancer treatment with a profound sense of empathy. Through the lens of Ghalib, she explored the brutal ramifications of cancer, the toll it takes on the body, and the healing impact of poetry.
Coveted US accreditation body NECHE invites Habib University to Annual Meeting 2023
President Wasif Rizvi had the distinct honor of presenting Habib University’s unique journey as Pakistan’s first community-owned institution. Presenting at the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) Annual Meeting ’23, served as a milestone for higher education globally with Habib University being recognized for the successful creation of a contextualized liberal arts curriculum.
Nurturing growth and inclusivity in the workplace
Cultivating a supportive work environment to ensure employee well-being is central to Habib University’s institutional values. Initiatives like the monthly town hall Aghaaz, EmpowerHer and focused training sessions aim to empower employees by enhancing skills, allowing for seamless communication and building an inclusive and equitable community.
Inaugurating Horizon at Habib - a collaborative learning space
Corporate leaders and notable figures from academia were invited to celebrate the inauguration of Horizon, a collaborative learning space modelled on Stanford University’s d.school. Horizon’s student-centric design promotes active learning and enables faculty and students to explore innovative pedagogical techniques in the classroom.

Honoring philanthropists at Stanford University
Habib University celebrated its distinct model as a contextually rooted community-owned liberal arts institution by hosting an event at Stanford University in honor of the remarkable contributions of the Dhanani and Jeewanjee families. Their generous endowments, the Dhanani School of Science and Engineering and the Imam Ali ibn Talib Chair in Humanities and Wisdom respectively, play an instrumental role in transforming higher education in Pakistan.
Enriching relationships with Pakistani Tech Entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley
Relationships with Pakistani diaspora in the US continued to strengthen. President Wasif Rizvi was honored to accept the invitation of the President of OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs) Silicon Valley Chapter for a series of networking events where tech entrepreneurs and community leaders discussed Habib University’s contributions to the advancements in higher education in Pakistan.
Fostering community engagement
at Horizon
To encourage and celebrate philanthropy in higher education a series titled ‘Luncheon at Horizon’ was launched. The initiative kicked off with Tariq Rafi, member of Habib University Foundation Board of Pakistan, inviting his peer group to visit the campus. Attendees had the opportunity to hear more about the institution’s mission and engage with potential avenues to support students and build legacy spaces.
