Final Year Project
Project Title
Design and Development of a 6 DOF Industrial Robotic Arm
Description
This project designs and builds a low-cost 6 DOF industrial robotic arm at Habib University, developed specifically for two Pakistani manufacturers: Dawlance, where it places stickers on refrigerator doors, and Toyota Pakistan, where it applies FIPG sealer to engine components. Both tasks are currently done by hand, causing quality inconsistencies, worker fatigue, and chemical exposure. The broader purpose is to prove that affordable, locally manufactured automation is possible for Pakistani industry. This project closes that gap, delivering a precision robotic platform built from locally sourced aluminum, off-the-shelf motors, and in-house fabrication, designed around the actual workspace and budget constraints of Pakistani factories.
