Project Title
An Empathy-Building Game
Description
This gamified interactive environment addresses the societal empathy gap regarding the cognitive and motor challenges experienced by individuals with Down syndrome. Users collaborate with an AI companion that simulates these real-world communication and coordination difficulties. The system employs machine learning and authentic data to dynamically adjust the companion’s behavior based on the player's patience and supportiveness. To assess its effectiveness, an iterative evaluation framework utilizes pre- and post-testing alongside Kirkpatrick’s model to measure shifts in user empathy and behavior. Consequently, this educational tool cultivates inclusive interaction skills and builds broader societal awareness.
