Final Year Project

Project Title

Between Wedding and World: How Young Pakistani Wives Reimagine Growth Outside Education

Description

This thesis explores how young Pakistani women who marry after high school, without pursuing higher education, understand personal growth, maturity, and empowerment. Based on eight qualitative interviews, the study examines how marriage, family environment, early motherhood, and financial conditions shape women’s lives. The research shows that personal development does not happen only through formal education or employment, but also through everyday responsibilities, emotional resilience, and negotiation within family life. The project contributes to conversations on gender, empowerment, and social development in Pakistan by highlighting women’s own perspectives and lived experiences.
