Project Title
Investigating Socio-Economic Adjustment Challenges Faced by Returned Migrant Workers in Karachi - A Case Study
Description
This project is focused on the migrant workers of Karachi who went to Gulf states for work in petrochemical industries but came back with health issues that were not properly addressed. One aim is to see gaps in diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care contributions and how that affects their socio-economic related adjustments during reintegration. It also seeks to raise awareness about the experiences of countless workers from Karachi who migrated to the Gulf between the 1970s and 2000s and were later forced to return around 2015 due to sudden policy changes, leaving many uncertain about their health and future well-being.
