Final Year Project

Project Title

The Politics of Language

Description

Language is essentially thought of as a means of communication, however, it is much more than that, it is used as this powerful tool which could preserve history and reclaim one’s identity. For Palestinians, whose land and identity has been challenged and undermined, their language and words serve as undeniable evidence of their existence and identity. The words that they speak, ranging from place names to the conversations they have with each other carry the heavy weight of their histories and traditions. However, even though the Palestinians firmly use language as a tool of resistance and as an expression of them identity, the presence of their language is under threat due to the Israeli occupation and its control.
