Final Year Project
Project Title
Educational Perspectives and Experiences from A Domestic House Help Lens: Karachi
Description
Education is a human right, but Pakistan has a literacy rate on the lower side. Though Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh emerged from the same region, the other two countries have done much better in the education sector. This research is aimed to know educational perspectives and experiences in Karachi from the domestic house-help lens. This research explored their thoughts on education and how their children are or are not getting educated. I did 10 structured interviews via the snowball sampling method. The results suggest that most domestic house-help children are enrolled in schools, but poor standard of education, lack of transport, and electricity load shedding hinder their progress.
