Project Title
IoT Solution for Mapping Driver Behavior on Road Networks Using IMU
Description
This project focuses on mapping drivers' harsh driving behaviors, including Harsh Acceleration, Harsh Brake, and Harsh Turn, in collaboration with Monit, Pakistan's first AI and IoT solution company. Our work is centered on the sentinel device, which measures drowsiness and incorporates road safety features. We contribute to the device by analyzing driving behavior using an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to detect harsh driving conditions, generating alerts on our portal. The project is structured into key phases: defining harsh driving behaviors through primary and secondary research, characterizing the sensor's behavior in real-time road conditions, and removing sensor drift using the Kalman filter. Data is labeled manually using a keypad to distinguish between harsh and normal driving events, considering factors like potholes and jumps that impact sensor readings.
