Final Year Project

Project Title

Ankahi

Description

Ankahi is a photobook exploring the manifestation of childhood trauma in adult intimacy. The objective of the conducted research was to discover how growing up in a dysfunctional family affects a person's non-platonic relationships in adulthood. The research aimed to review individual experiences and understandings, identifying and analyzing common patterns among the participants. The purpose of the book was to visualize these experiences and their consequences in adult relationships through metaphoric photographs. Accompanying poetic passages provided further insight into the theme and helped interpret the portrayed metaphors. The intention was to serve as a guide for individuals in relationships with those who have experienced dysfunctionality in their families during their early years. The book aims to assist the target audience in navigating the ups and downs of their relationships.
