Final Year Project

Project Title

Coal Mine Monitoring and Warning System

Description

The objective is to develop a novel sensing and computing platform using a fusion of different sensors and image captures to provide safe working conditions for miners in a coal mine by identifying areas more prone to structural hazards and accumulation of toxic gases/smoke. Our solution consists of two separate projects. For identifying areas prone to structural hazards, we propose a CV-based algorithm that detects areas prone to collapsing through analyzing images of the structure obtained through a drone.
