Final Year Project

Project Title

Controller Designing for a DCDC Boost Converter for Electric Vehicle

Description

Electric vehicles have become increasingly popular due to their benefits, such as lower CO2 emissions and greater efficiency. In these vehicles, power converters step up or step down the DC voltage. Isolated boost converters are used to increase the low voltage input to higher output. Our project focuses on designing an isolated boost converter controller in two sections. Firstly, the isolated boost converter is simulated using Simulink MATLAB and connected to a controller designed in LabVIEW on an embedded board (myRIO) using Hardware-in-Loop (HIL). Secondly, we test different controllers, such as PI, PID, fuzzy logic, and neural network, for the controller design, using programming logic blocks or G language state-space blocks. After testing, the best controller will be built in LabVIEW and connected to myRIO for implementation.
