Power Train of an Electric Vehicle

Description

The objective of this capstone design project is to build an experimental electric vehicle. The essential element is to build a power-train, which would be responsible for the transmission of mechanical power from DC machine to vehicle’s moving shafts. The electrical part consists of a user-controlled drive for a compound DC motor to achieve variable speeds, and to start the vehicle from rest to a predefined set of speeds. The second objective is to build an adaptive cruise control mechanism owing to which the vehicle would be able to maintain a certain distance from other vehicles in an automatic fashion. This is a joint project with Tariq Ismail and Osama Younis.
