Project Title
Future of Cashless Economy: Anthropological Analysis of Mobile Banking
Description
My thesis is on the future of the cashless economy of Pakistan. It aims to examine the possibility and challenges of creating a cashless economy in the Pakistani context and uses one of the popular examples of mobile banking as a case study. It introduces an interesting anthropological perspective on the previously done research and makes use of descriptive research design to present findings, using quantitative and qualitative data. My research would also try to see how the emergence of this form would lead to better surveillance and whether it would really be helpful in monitoring illegal activities.
