Final Year Project

Project Title

Zafar – Deep Learning-based Automated Urdu Paragraph Generator

Description

Given a few keywords, we are trying to automatically generate a paragraph in Urdu. By a paragraph, we refer to a piece of text which has more than one coherent sentence. Our work is inspired by recent developments in the field of Natural Language Generation, a sub-field of Natural Language Processing, such as OpenAI's GPT-3 model. We want to diversify the scope of research in NLP by contributing to a low resource language research such as Urdu. We are developing an attention-based LSTM model, known as MTA-LSTM. We have made our own dataset by scrapping websites such as Jang, Dawn news, Rekhta and Urdu Point. Once this project is done, users will be able to go to a website where they can generate paragraphs by giving keywords or use provided API to do so. Our project is a research project, however, by further advancing this research, it can be used in fields of Interactive story-telling, such as in games, and interactive chat-bots for Urdu.
