Habib University is the only institution in Pakistan with structured collaboration and partnerships that allows its students the unprecedented opportunities of studying abroad at topped ranked international universities. HU also supports all those initiatives which open-up such opportunities not only for HU students but for the students of other Universities too.
One such collaboration is with Sajjad Foundation Singapore. Both these organizations selected 15 talented Pakistani undergraduate students through a rigorous selection process to attend NUS Enterprise Summer Program 2016 at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from July 10 – July 23, 2016. The compact 2-week program hosts undergraduate students from universities around the world and focuses on entrepreneurship and economic development in Singapore. Participants interact with locals and experience the Singaporean culture. They learn how public policies are formed and gain insights on business practices in the region.
All selected students are fully sponsored by Sajjad Foundation, Habib University, Al-Karam Textile Mills Limited, Hilton Pharma Ltd. and Bank Islami, as part of their commitment to provide high quality international experience to Pakistani students. “We believe strongly that financial circumstances shouldn’t hinder talented students in our country from gaining an experience abroad,” said Mr. Hasan Bilgrami, CEO of BankIslami Pakistan Ltd.
Over four hundred students from more than 50 colleges and universities across Pakistan applied for the program.
Mehreen Soomro, Manager Admissions at Habib University said:
It was inspiring as well as challenging for Habib University to select 15 students from such accomplished and diverse group of students. Habib University believes in supporting students to diversify their learning experience and NUS Summer Enterprise Program supports its structured and unprecedented Learn Abroad Program.
Ali Hussain, Chairman of the Singapore-based philanthropic organization, Sajjad Foundation said:
The opportunity to spend a summer in Singapore will enrich their lives, expose them to alternate perspectives, and better prepare them for leadership roles in Pakistan.
The selected students are from geographically diverse areas such as Karachi, Lahore, Gilgit Baltistan, Sukkur, Peshawar and Islamabad. They come from different institutions in the country including Lahore University of Management Sciences, Institute of Business Management, Habib University, National University of Sciences & Technology, Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar, Institute of Space Technology, Karakoram University, Forman Christian College, Allama Iqbal Medical College and Namal University.
