Encouraging Academic Excellence
Habib University encourages academic excellence through its interdisciplinary curriculum and a range of student support programs. The Awards and Honors Ceremony celebrates students whose dedication and intellectual curiosity exemplify academic excellence. The event recognized students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance, celebrating those on the Dean’s List (GPA above 3.5) and the President’s List (two consecutive semesters on the Dean’s List).
Recognizing Outstanding Achievements
During the ceremony, the top three students on the Dean’s List from each school were awarded the High Academic Achievement Scholarship, while the High Academic Leap Scholarship was presented to the top two students from each batch and both schools. Yasmeen Bano, Vice President, Student Success, welcomed students and their parents to the Awards and Honors Ceremony. The H.M Auditorium echoed with rapturous applause for the celebration.
Some of the students who received honors were:
- Shameer Masroor, Electrical Engineering student from the Class of 2025, received a certificate of appreciation for being on the Dean’s List from Dr. Aamir Hasan, Vice President Academic Affairs, and Dr. Munzir Zafar, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering at Habib University.
- Zoya Suleman, Electrical Engineering student from the Class of 2025, received a certificate of appreciation for being on the Dean’s List from Dr. Waqar Saleem, Associate Professor, Computer Science, and Dr. Munzir Zafar.
- Abdulsalam Sharif, Communication and Design student from the Class of 2027, received a certificate of appreciation for being on the Dean’s List from Christie Marie Lauder, Assistant Dean, School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and Program Director, Communication and Design, and Behzad Khosravi Noori, Director of Academic Centers and Assistant Professor of Practice, Communication and Design.
- Madiha Akhtar, Comparative Humanities student from the Class of 2025, received a certificate of appreciation for being on the Dean’s List from Muhammad Aatir Khan, Assistant Professor, Social Development and Policy, Faculty Director Academics, Graduate School Curation Program, and Sahaab Bader Sheikh, Program Director and Assistant Professor, Social Development and Policy.
- Soha Sajjad, Comparative Humanities student from the Class of 2025, received a certificate of appreciation for being on the Dean’s List from Shah Jamal Alam, Interim Dean for Undergraduate Education & Accreditation and Associate Professor, Computer Science, and Muneera Batool, Associate Dean Teaching and Learning and Assistant Professor Communication and Design.
- Mahrukh Usmani, Social Development and Policy student from the Class of 2026, was awarded the High Academic Leap Scholarship for Fall of 2024 by Muneera Batool, Associate Dean Teaching and Learning and Assistant Professor Communication and Design.
- Muminah Khurram, Computer Science student from the Class of 2025, was awarded the High Academic Leap Scholarship for Fall of 2024 by Muneera Batool, Associate Dean Teaching and Learning and Assistant Professor Communication and Design.
