KARACHI: If you consider yourself a creative individual who is determined to bring social change then you are in luck.
Habib University, in association with German Pakistan Trade and Investment, is hosting a unique opportunity for young innovators to present solutions to business, scientific and development challenges in Pakistan, Falling Walls Lab Karachi, and compete for a chance to win a trip to Germany. Falling Walls Lab Karachi is a dynamic platform for students, academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all over Pakistan to present their research project, business plan, social initiative or design solution to a distinguished jury from academia and business.
Falling Walls Lab Karachi will be held on October 10. Each participant will be given three minutes to present their idea. The presentations will be judged on the creativity of the concept, its relevance and overall impact on the society.
Applications are open to candidates, under 35 years of age, from across Pakistan and can be submitted online (habib.edu.pk/FallingWallsLab). The application deadline is September 23. The winner of Habib University’s Falling Walls Lab will receive a scholarship to present his or her idea to an international jury of business, scientific and social leaders in Berlin.
Falling Walls initiative
An initative of the Falling Walls Foundation, Germany, the Falling Walls Lab Karachi is an inspiring and innovative forum for participants to engage with fellow entreprenuers, academics, and professionals, learn about innovative research and ideas, and connect to business, scientific and entrepreneurial networks.
Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year, fostering scientific and entrepreneurial innovations and promoting exchange between young scholars and professionals from different fields of expertise.
The winners of the international Falling Walls Labs qualify for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on November 8, and is closely connected to the annual and internationally renowned Falling Walls Conference, taking place on November 9.
