Habib University’s School of Science and Engineering (SSE) held a curriculum workshop at Texas A&M University at Qatar on May 13th and 14th, 2013. The aim of the workshop was to create internationally recognized, contextualized curricula for its programs and learn from the experiences of relevant academic experts.
Habib University’s curriculum development is an ongoing, continuously evolving, innovative process that was aided immensely by the gathering of accomplished academics at the workshop. Habib University faculty members as well faculty from both institutions met together to discuss their ideas and experiences in order to design the SSE curriculum. Along with Habib University’s Dr. Charles Timothy Spracklen, Dr. Nauman Naqvi, Dr. Shahid Shaikh, Dr. Hasan Ali Khan, Dr. Waqar Saleem, Ms. Tatheer Hamdani, Mr. Rehan Azhar, Mr. Sibtain Naqvi, the sessions were attended by several faculty members from regional Universities, academics from Texas A&M University Qatar and Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar and industry professionals. The discussions and feedback will help in creating a holistic learning experience that develops an understanding and appreciation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional ethics.
