President of Habib University Reveals Ambitious Plans for 2025 in New Year Message

As Habib University celebrates its tenth anniversary, President Wasif Rizvi shared a heartfelt New Year message outlining the institution’s remarkable achievements and unveiling its ambitious plans for the future.

Reflecting on the university’s journey, he highlighted the grim global realities of the past decade, including genocidal violence and the climate crisis, while emphasizing Habib University’s firm commitment to delivering critically conscious education. Founded with the vision to revolutionize higher education in Pakistan, Habib University is one of the few private institutions globally offering a virtually tuition-free, world-class liberal arts and sciences experience.

Over the last decade, the university has cultivated a diverse student body from various socioeconomic backgrounds, enabling students to excel in their careers, pursue graduate studies at top institutions, and emerge as thought leaders. This success has inspired other universities in Pakistan to adopt elements of liberal arts education and expand scholarships for underprivileged students. Looking ahead, President Rizvi announced groundbreaking initiatives for 2025. Habib University will deepen its focus on cutting-edge disciplines like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning across its programs with insights from its international partners, including Stanford University, UT Austin, and Harvey Mudd College. The university will also inaugurate the Institute for Design, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership (IDEAL), set to become Pakistan’s leading center for continuing education, corporate training, and youth innovation.

President Rizvi concluded by acknowledging the support of the Habib family and community leaders, reaffirming the university’s mission to empower future generations and build a brighter future for Pakistan.
