Jamil Dehlavi at the Tirana Film Festival


With numerous accolades to his name, Jamil Dehlavi continues to bring great works of art to the silver screen.  Adding on to these commendations, “Seven Lucky Gods”, a film written, produced and directed by Prof Jamil Dehlavi, received an award for the Best Feature Film Award at the prestigious Tirana International Film Festival.

The Film Festival held its 11th annual event from October 23-31, 2013 attracting more than 1,200 film submissions from 91 countries. Created in 2003, the international cinematic event, is a one of the most significant festivals held in Albania.

Prof Jamil Dehlavi has worked on various projects for the BBC, Channel Four, French Television and the Radio & Visual Services Division at the United Nations. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences where he will teach filmmaking. “Having Jamil on board as Habib University’s faculty not only brings great honor, but is a distinguished addition to the list of internationally qualified academics at Habib,” said Mr. Wasif Rizvi, President, Habib University, while congratulating Prof Dehlavi on this achievement.
