On October 14, 2021, Habib Bank Limited and Habib University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at HBL Plaza, Karachi for a strategic partnership, which will identify and bridge the gaps between academia and industry. In line with Habib University’s commitment to ensure student success, the partnership will focus on curating experiential learning for students so that they excel at every step of their professional lives.
The agreement was signed by Jamal Nasir, Chief Human Resources Officer, HBL and Yasmeen Bano, Director Student Success, Habib University. Parvez Ghias, CEO Habib University Foundation, Lubna Ahmed, Director Resource Development, Habib University, Shoaib Khan, Head of Career Services, Habib University, Abrar Ahmed Mir, Chief Innovation and Financial Inclusion Officer, HBL and Aadil Saleh, Head Talent Acquisition, HBL were also present on the occasion along with other members from both organizations. Under the partnership, Habib University and HBL will collaborate to design an industry experience program for the students, offering them an opportunity to experience real-life industry challenges through structured internships, projects, workshops, and regular interaction with HBL professionals. This unique collaboration will play a vital role in developing essential skills among students based on current and future needs of the job market and will allow Habib University to gain valuable insights from HBL to align its academic and career development programs. The alliance will also enable HBL to learn and understand the career aspirations of the young generation.
