Recently, Qaima Hossain, a BA (Honors) Comparative Humanities major from the Class of 2024, has secured admission into Stanford University’s Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature, marking a significant achievement immediately following her undergraduate studies.
During her undergraduate journey, Qaima pursued a minor in Communication and Design, showing profound intellectual growth and excelling in academic pursuits and extracurricular activities, aligning with YOHSIN values. She received prestigious accolades including multiple Dean’s List and President’s List recognitions, highlighting her academic prowess and exemplary conduct.
At the 2024 Awards Night, Qaima was honored with the President’s Medal for her outstanding CGPA and substantial academic growth throughout her four years. Her thesis project, “Spread Your Hem; Gather Love As It Falls: A Journey Guided by Shah Jo Risalo,” earned her the Best Thesis Award. Qaima also distinguished herself as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024, being recognized for the quality and delivery of her valedictory speech.
Beyond academics, Qaima served as Vice President of the Arts and Cultural Club, head of the Poetry Circle, and member of the IHP Advisory Council, illustrating her broad impact within and beyond the university.
