Final Year Project
Project Title
Collaborative Human-Robot Gantry System for Product Packaging and Palletizing at Dawlance Assembly Plant
Description
My Final Year Project focuses on designing a Collaborative Human-Robot Gantry System for product packaging and palletizing at Dawlance. Currently, workers manually lift microwaves weighing up to 40 kg and stack them onto pallets, which poses serious ergonomic risks. Using the NIOSH Revised Lifting Equation, the task was evaluated with a lifting index of 3.1, indicating a hazardous working condition. The proposed system introduces a human-robot collaborative gantry that automates heavy lifting and palletizing while allowing workers to perform dexterous tasks such as packaging preparation and quality checks. The aim is to reduce physical strain, improve workplace safety, and increase operational efficiency while aligning with Industry 5.0 principles that emphasize human-robot collaboration rather than full automation.
